Works on the new £1m Air Pollution Control residues (APCr) recycling plant at Cardiff began in early 2015. The APCr recycling plant will process raw APC residues and create an aggregate feedstock for use in our range of concrete products.

On Wednesday 17th June the two 40m3 reaction vessels were water tested which involved filling them with water to ensure there were no leaks and that they were structurally sound. Work continues this week with more of the plant being commissioned with the plan to have a full trial run at the end of the week.

The plant, when complete will more than double Castle Environmental’s capacity for recycling APC residues. The plant is due to be fully up and running at the end of July.
