Our Services

All of our sites are capable of handling hazardous and non hazardous wastes in bulk drummed and packaged form.

Waste Management legislation is notoriously complex. At Castle we employ some of the best technical staff in the Industry. You can be sure that your waste will be properly evaluated and technically assessed in one of our in house laboratories.

Thereafter, once removed from site your waste will be professionally and competently handled in the most cost effective and environmentally conscious manner. We will take care of all of the paperwork thus ensuring that you comply with all relevant Environmental Legislation and your own Duty of Care.

Waste Collection

We use a large network of third party hauliers for the collection and transport of all the wastes that we handle - including bulk liquids, powders (tankers and bagged) and containerised wastes - drums, IBCs and other packaged wastes.

Also, we work with an established number of carefully selected third party recycling/disposal sites so that we can provide a full service for the widest possible range of wastes.

Waste Treatment

Our waste treatment sites at Ilkeston, Stoke-on-Trent and Cardiff enable us to provide nationwide services for the safe removal of a wide range of wastes including incinerator fly ash/air pollution control residues, acids and alkalis, solvents and flammable materials, contaminated packaging/PPE, oxidising solids, organic acids (and other high BOD/COD aqueous wastes), ammoniacal and amine wastes, contaminated effluents/leachates, epoxy resins and hardeners, aqueous cyanide wastes - and hypochlorite effluents

Waste Recycling

We are market leaders in the recycling of air pollution control residues (APCr).

With the removal of WAC derogations from all hazardous waste landfills in the near future and the statutory requirement to consider the waste hierarchy, volumes of APCr routed to recycling outlets will have to increase.

For more than 4 years we have processed APCr so as to facilitate incorporation into a variety of construction products. We have achieved the relevant 'end of waste' criteria for the incorporation of washed APCr in our manufacture of precast concrete blocks (if you have an interest in purchasing such blocks please contact us for a quote).

We operate other recycling/recovery processes - for example, our electrolysis plant recovers copper from aqueous wastes and we recycle ferric chloride into a number of outlets.
